Joe Penney started Penney's Professional Painting in 2007 with one truck and a phone book. His son Alex grew up sanding cabinet doors on Saturdays and now co-runs every job. Between them, they have done more paint jobs in San Diego County than either of them has bothered to count.
No shortcuts.

Most painting companies in San Diego are sales operations. Someone in a polo shirt quotes the job. A crew you have never met shows up to do it.
That is not how we work and never has been.
Joe quotes the job. Alex runs the job. The crew has been with us for years, not weeks. When you walk the finished job, it is Joe or Alex standing next to you — not a field supervisor who showed up in the last hour.
We turn down work we cannot do well. We have told people when paint will not fix the underlying problem. We do not cut prep, we do not use subcontractors, and we do not leave until you have walked every room and signed off.

Joe & Alex
Joe has been in the painting trade for over 35 years and in San Diego County since 2007. He holds CA License #794402-C33, is bonded and insured, and still quotes and walks every job personally. He will tell you the same thing on the phone that he tells you at the walkthrough.
Alex grew up on job sites and now runs projects alongside Joe. He manages day-to-day scheduling, on-site quality, and customer walkthroughs. No job gets signed off without Alex or Joe standing in the room with you.
